The Tekton hex key set features a short arm design optimized for access, allowing users to work closer to fasteners and in tighter spaces with greater control. The keys offer high leverage with longer lengths in larger sizes, enhancing torque where needed. Precision manufacturing ensures a tight fit with fasteners by controlling hex key geometry on the large end of the applicable range, reducing slop. Two tolerance measures—point-to-point and side-to-side—guarantee dimensional accuracy and consistency. A 20° ball angle improves access to fasteners while maintaining strength, and refined edges with slight chamfering on most sizes, except for the smallest (1.3 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 0.050 in., 1/16 in., and 5/64 in.), enhance engagement. Made from heat-treated 8660 nickel chromium molybdenum steel with a hardness of 54-58 HRC, the keys balance hardness and durability. A corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate finish is applied and tested by submersion in a 1% saltwater solution for 45 hours after isopropyl alcohol cleaning. Clear size markings are provided by high-visibility laser and stamped markings, except on the smallest sizes. The included holder organizes L-keys facing forward for quick access, and uniquely shaped, self-aligning key slots guide each key head into proper alignment.
