The Fluke FLK-87VMax-PVLead1 solar kit includes the 87V Max true-rms digital multimeter and the PVLead1 MC4 test leads. The Fluke 87V Max multimeter defines a new standard for operating in extreme conditions, featuring true-rms AC voltage and current measurement for accurate readings on non-linear signals, voltage measurement up to 1,000 V AC and DC, current measurement up to 10 A (20 A for 30 seconds), and frequency measurement up to 200 kHz. It has a built-in temperature function allowing temperature readings with the supplied thermocouple, as well as min/max/average recording and a 250-second peak min-max feature to capture variations automatically. The meter offers a unique function for accurate voltage and frequency measurements on variable frequency motor drives (VFDs) and other electrically noisy equipment. It features a large 19,999-count resolution display with 2-level bright white backlight and backlit keypad buttons for enhanced visibility, long battery life of 800 hours, and an industrial-strength outer shell with an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating. The device operates within an extended temperature range of -15 °C to +55 °C (5 °F to 131 °F) with tolerance for -40 °C for up to 20 minutes and 95% humidity, and has been tested to withstand a 4 m (13 ft) drop. The removable holster doubles as test lead storage and a test probe holder for one-handed operation. The included PVLead1 solar MC4 test leads consist of a set of black and red MC4 to 4 mm adapter leads, enabling safe connection to the meter to validate voltage from individual panels or series in a photovoltaic array.
