This insulated electrical work kit features handles tested and VDE certified to protect against electrical shock for voltages up to 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC in accordance with IEC 60900. The pliers have long, slim jaws measuring 3.2 inches from the center of the joint to the tip, allowing access to tight spaces. The tool offers five work zones, including a wire cutter for fast, clean cuts, a serrated surface for controlled gripping, a smooth surface for non-marring clamping, coarse teeth for an aggressive bite, and hex-grip teeth designed to engage small- to medium-sized hex fasteners similarly to a 12-point box-end wrench. The flared handles provide a positive stop to prevent slipping toward the conductive head. The pliers' body is made from drop-forged steel, oil-hardened to a hardness of 43–45 HRC and enamel-coated, while the cutting knives are induction-hardened to 55–59 HRC. The handle core is constructed from hard polypropylene, overmolded with a soft, grippy thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) in red for improved comfort and grip.
