The Tempco finned strip heater is designed for both forced and natural convection air heating, suitable for installation in a duct or at the bottom of cabinet-type ovens. It features a helically wound resistance coil housed in a specially designed ceramic insulator, which is mechanically connected to screw terminals for a secure connection. The assembly is encased in stainless steel rectangular tubing, with high purity magnesium oxide filling the remaining voids to enhance thermal conductivity and dielectric strength. Nickel plated steel fins are attached to the rectangular tubing, engineered to maximize surface contact for effective heat dissipation into the finned cross sections, resulting in efficient heat transfer to the air.
