The Baldor-Reliance motor is a .5 HP, 1750 RPM, DC motor designed with a 56C frame and model number 3520D. It features a totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) enclosure, shunt wound construction, and Class F insulation. This motor is specifically designed for use with NEMA type K SCR control and provides a 20:1 constant torque speed range, with the exception of noted cases. The motor includes a NEMA C-face and a removable base, though the explosion-proof models do not have this feature. The base is welded on type 3513D only, and models NEMA 182 and larger include a thermostat with normally closed contacts on the field winding. It does not have dual mounting base holes on 35D, 75D, or 91D types. Typical applications for this motor include conveyors, printing machines, textile equipment, machine tools, and other machinery requiring variable speeds with constant torque.
