The Baldor-Realiance motor is a 3HP, 1750 RPM, DC motor with a 215C, 7544D model designation and a TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan-Cooled) enclosure. This motor features a shunt wound design, Class F insulation, and is specifically engineered for compatibility with NEMA Type K SCR control. It boasts a 20:1 constant torque speed range (except where noted) and includes a NEMA C-face along with a removable base, although this is not applicable to explosion-proof models. The base is welded on the Type 3513D only, and models with NEMA 182 and larger incorporate a thermostat with normally closed contacts on the field winding. It should be noted that there are no dual mounting base holes on 35D, 75D, or 91D types. Typical applications for this motor include conveyors, printing, textile equipment, machine tools, and other machinery requiring variable speeds with constant torque.
