The 3/8-16x2 1/2 slotted indented hex washer thread cutting screw type F is a fully threaded screw made of zinc, designed for use in heavy gauge sheet metal as well as aluminum, zinc and lead die castings, cast iron, brass, and plastic. It is particularly suitable for applications where the material into which the screw cuts threads is stainless steel with a lower hardness by 10-20 Rockwell hardness. The indented hex washer head provides the benefits of a hex head, while also offering greater protection to the mating surface.
