The kit includes 6 pieces of 5/8-inch Phillips full contour truss self-tapping screws, type A, which are fully threaded and finished with black oxide. These screws feature a type A thread designed for self-starting applications in thin materials, specifically between 0.015 and 0.050 inches thick, including metal and resin-filled plywood. The truss head design, while weaker than pan or round heads, is preferred in situations where minimal clearance is required above the head. Additionally, the modified truss head provides low clearance and an extra-large bearing surface, making these screws commonly used for attaching metal lathe to metal studs.
