The kit includes 10 pieces of 3/4 inch Phillips full contour truss self-tapping screws, which are type A and fully threaded with a black oxide finish. These screws feature a type A thread that allows for self-starting in materials that are thin, ranging from .015 to .050 inches in thickness, including metal and resin-filled plywood. Truss head screws are designed to be weaker than pan or round heads but are preferred for applications where there is minimal clearance above the head. The modified truss heads provide low clearance and an extra-large bearing surface, making them commonly used for attaching metal lath to metal studs.
