The 6x3/4 Phillips full contour truss self-tapping screw type A features a full thread design and is made of zinc bake material. This screw is specifically designed with type A thread for self-starting in thin materials, ranging from .015 to .050 inches in thickness, including metal and resin-filled plywood. Although truss head screws are generally weaker than pan or round heads, they are ideal for applications where minimal clearance exists above the head. The modified truss heads provide low clearance and an extra large bearing surface, making them commonly used for attaching metal lathe to metal studs.
