The 1/4-20x2 six lobe flat floor board screw type F is designed for use with heavy gauge sheet metal, aluminum, zinc and lead die castings, cast iron, brass, and plastic. These thread-cutting type-F threaded screws facilitate reliable fastening when working with materials that have a hardness lower by 10-20 Rockwell hardness when stainless steel is involved. The flat head design is especially suitable when it is unacceptable for the fastener to protrude above the mating surface, typically featuring a 100-degree flat or an 82-degree flat for fastening softer materials.
