The Baldor-Reliance DC control is a DC SCR control unit designed for use with 115/230V power and is suitable for motor applications ranging from 1/50 to 2 HP. It features full wave SCR control with a free wheeling diode (NEMA type K) and includes a field power supply that enables compatibility with both shunt wound DC motors and permanent magnet motors. The control allows for adjustable acceleration, deceleration, current limit, IR compensation, and setting of minimum and maximum speed. It also has a current limit indicating LED, a 5K speed potentiometer for speed control, and an anti-demagnetization circuit that protects permanent magnet motors while safeguarding the SCR power bridge against direct shorts. The noise rejection circuit effectively eliminates false starts and blown SCRs. The model BC154-SI includes the BC154 along with the BC145 signal isolator and a BC158 auto/manual switch that comes factory installed. The control is UL and CUL recognized, making it compliant with safety standards. Typical applications include conveyors, mixers, packaging machinery, and other systems requiring variable speed and constant torque.
