Ultra-Pipe Socks® are designed to control the flow of sediment and oil from headwalls and various types of pipes. Constructed with UltraTech's Ultra-Filter-Tex®, a robust geo-textile filter media, these socks allow large volumes of water to flow through while simultaneously absorbing liquid hydrocarbons, including petroleum and both animal and vegetable oils, as well as other liquid contaminants. They are also effective in pond applications, particularly where vertical pipes extend above the water surface, helping to prevent sediment inflow during high-water events. The Ultra-Pipe Socks® are available in several standard and custom sizes and assist in compliance with NPDES, specifically 40 CFR 122.26 (1999), when utilized as a best management practice in stormwater pollution prevention plans.
