Comstar's Profrost I-40 is a premium industrial coolant composed of 40% pre-diluted propylene glycol with a corrosion inhibitor package, specifically designed to prevent system corrosion and clog-ups caused by chemicals and minerals that may be present in operating systems. This non-toxic, non-irritating, and biodegradable coolant is suitable for use in systems related to food and/or pharmaceutical processing, although it is not intended as an additive for food or pharmaceuticals. The coolant is pre-diluted for easy application and does not contain glycols without a corrosion package, which are more corrosive than water. The presence of common tap water's slight acidity and minerals can lead to corrosion and the buildup of lime/scale deposits, which can hinder heat transfer and clog pipes. Therefore, Profrost I-40’s formulation includes a corrosion inhibitor to enhance performance and longevity in diverse operating environments.
