The 6" by 18" assortment contains 1 each of the following thicknesses: 0.001", 0.0015", 0.002", 0.003", 0.004", 0.005", 0.006", 0.007", 0.008", 0.010", 0.012", 0.015", 0.020", 0.025", and 0.031". The brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass and is uniquely branded by Precision Brand®, the only manufacturer to offer branded shim. Each shim is clearly marked with essential information such as material type, material thickness, and lot # for full traceability. It is particularly effective in applications where corrosion issues arise, due to its low magnetic permeability. The shim exhibits excellent forming qualities and may be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. Common uses include tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other equipment. It is also suitable for short run and prototype work, making it valuable for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
