The kit is constructed with heat shrink insulation that is adhesive lined to ensure waterproof and environmentally sealed electrical connections when crimped and heated. It insulates and protects connections from wire pullout, moisture intrusion, and abrasion. The heat-activated adhesive melts and flows to create a durable seal while effectively resisting salt water, oil, gasoline, and other environmental contaminants. The product is rated at a maximum of 600 volts and has a temperature rating of 221 °F (105 °C).
