The Gardner Bender outlet tester is designed to test standard receptacles at 120 VAC, ensuring proper wiring. This compact unit plugs into any standard 3-wire/grounded receptacle (110 - 125 V AC circuits) and is equipped with neon indicators that provide a positive indication of circuit status. It can test for six circuit conditions including open ground, open neutral, open hot, hot/ground reverse, hot/neutral reverse, and correct wiring. A succession of yellow and red lights indicates circuit status or specifies wiring errors, while the easy-to-read design is visible from three views: top, side, and bottom. The tester is suitable for assessing standard outlets and extension cords.
