The JET JWDS-1632 drum sander features an innovative tool-less parallelism system for simple adjustments, allowing the worktable to be easily positioned with a turn of the parallelism dial. It includes SandSmart™ control that continuously monitors the load on the drum motor, automatically regulating the speed of the conveyor motor to maintain the optimal feed rate while preventing overload. The sander's stand has a 20" x 37" footprint for increased stability and comes with a storage shelf and pre-drilled holes for casters. The easily removable drum utilizes sealed and permanently lubricated ball bearings for longevity, and the parallelism adjust dial includes a stop for quickly returning the conveyor bed to a flat position. The dust hood features an integrated channel that mirrors the drum's shape, directing chips and dust into a 4" collection port. The precision-machined and dynamically balanced extruded aluminum drum effectively dissipates heat, protecting the work surface, while the reinforced steel conveyor bed is precision-flattened. The redesigned conveyor system pulls the workpiece through the sander rather than pushing it, and a single rotation of the top-position handwheel adjusts the drum height by 1/16", with a relative depth scale for precise measurement.
