Product Details
The Phase II UTG-1500 is a hand-held microprocessor-controlled ultrasonic thickness gauge designed for measuring the thickness of metallic and non-metallic materials, including aluminum, titanium, plastics, ceramics, and glass, provided they have parallel top and bottom surfaces. This device is suitable for various industrial applications, allowing for precise thickness measurements on raw materials, component parts, and assembled machinery, as well as monitoring pipes and pressure vessels for thickness loss due to corrosion or erosion. The UTG-1500 is user-friendly and delivers accurate readings in both inches and millimeters following a simple calibration to a known thickness or sound velocity. Utilizing ultrasonic non-destructive testing (NDT), the gauge measures thickness by timing the sound wave's travel through the material and back to the transducer, with a typical accuracy of .001". The standard frequency used in the Phase II ultrasonic thickness gauges is 5MHz, and a variety of optional piezoelectric transducers are available to accommodate different applications. The kit includes the UTG-1500 gauge itself, a carrying case, transducer, couplant, and a user manual. This device is compliant with industry standards and certifications for safety and reliability, ensuring it meets rigorous quality benchmarks. The dimensions of the gauge are compact for portability, making it an essential tool for professionals in various fields. The product is backed by a standard warranty.
