The Lag Shield Shell Expansion Anchor with a drill diameter of 1/2" and a 5/16" short size features a minimum embedment depth of 1-1/4". It is a screw-style anchor designed for use with lag bolts and is suitable for application in concrete and the mortar joints of block or brick walls. The Lag Shield anchors are made from zamac alloy. In harder masonry materials, the short style Lag Shields are used to reduce drilling time, while the long style version is intended for soft or weak masonry to better develop strength.
