The PosiTector® 6000 FNS1 standard coating thickness gauge is designed for measuring coating thickness on all metal substrates, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as steel, iron, aluminum, and copper. The kit includes a standard gauge body and a removable FNS probe, ready to measure with no calibration adjustment required for most applications. It features enhanced one-handed menu navigation, is solvent, acid, oil, water, and dust resistant, and has a weatherproof design. The gauge is equipped with a wear-resistant probe tip, a shock-absorbing protective rubber holster with a belt clip, and offers a two-year warranty on both the gauge body and probe. A certificate of calibration showing traceability to NIST is included in long form. Built-in temperature compensation ensures measurement accuracy, while the hi-res mode increases displayed resolution for precision applications. It conforms to national and international standards, including ISO and ASTM, and universally accepts all PosiTector 6000 probes. Users can select from multiple calibration adjustment options, including 1 point, 2 point, known thickness, and average zero. The flip display allows for right-side-up viewing, and the device operates on alkaline or rechargeable batteries, with a built-in charger. Fast mode provides quicker measurement speeds, and the HiLo alarm alerts users when measurements exceed specified limits. The gauge can calculate statistics such as average, standard deviation, min/max thickness, and number of readings while measuring. Software updates are available via the web, and a USB port facilitates fast connections to a PC to supply continuous power; a USB cable is included.
