The shelves have a rust-resistant phosphatized cleaning that enhances paint adhesion and durability, finished with a baked-on gray enamel. Compression clips rapidly snap into the posts, allowing independent adjustment of shelves while normal shelf loading increases the locking action. Closed units include back and end panels for added stability. Starter units come with two sway braces, whereas add-on units include one sway brace.
