Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications requiring protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. Key features of these motors include Super-E® premium efficient windings, a voltage of 460 volts, a 1.15 service factor, and a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish. Additionally, they come with regreaseable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings, Class F insulation, and a stainless steel nameplate with corrosion-resistant hardware. The motors also include a 5-year warranty, making them suitable for tropical climates and other processing industry applications where protection against corrosion is essential.
