Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications requiring protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. They feature premium efficiency copper windings utilizing Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire that complies with CEE efficiency guidelines. Additionally, an Inpro Seal is included on both the fan and drive end shaft extensions. The motors are coated with a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer on the inside and outside, along with gray epoxy paint and corrosion-resistant hardware. They are engineered to reduce noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, and final test and vibration results are shipped with each motor.
