Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to protect against severe environmental operating conditions, making them suitable for applications such as petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors and feature premium efficiency copper windings using Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire that comply with CEE efficiency guidelines. Additional attributes include an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer applied inside and outside, gray epoxy paint, and corrosion-resistant hardware. The motors are built to reduce noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results shipped with each motor to ensure compliance with stringent testing standards for severe duty service.
