Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require robust protection from harsh environmental conditions. Typical applications for these motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. They feature premium efficiency copper windings utilizing Baldor-Realiance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire, which complies with CEE efficiency guidelines. Additionally, the motors come with an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, a two-part yellow epoxy oxide primer on both the inside and outside, gray epoxy paint, and corrosion-resistant hardware. They are engineered for reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results included with each motor. These attributes ensure that the motors are suitable for installations demanding premium efficiency and durability under severe duty service conditions.
