Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that demand protection from extreme environmental conditions. Typical applications for these motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. Key features include design, manufacturing, and testing that exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors, premium efficiency copper windings utilizing Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire which complies with CEE efficiency guidelines, an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, and a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer applied both inside and outside the motor. Additionally, the motors feature gray epoxy paint and corrosion-resistant hardware, reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, along with final test and vibration results that are shipped with the motor. These motors are ideal for installations requiring premium efficiency and are manufactured and tested to stringent standards for severe duty service.
