Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specially designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. The motors are built to 841XL design and feature an upgraded electrical and mechanical design with NEMA Premium® efficient winding. They incorporate Inpro/Seal® VBX up to 210 frame and VBXX bearing isolators on fan and drive end shaft extensions. The epoxy paint provides an IP56 enclosure, and the stainless breather drains enhance durability. The proprietary cast iron frames are designed to minimize vibration and noise, while terminal lugs on motor leads facilitate easy connections. These motors come with a 5-year warranty and are manufactured and tested to rigid standards for severe duty service.
