Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors and feature premium efficiency copper windings using Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire, which complies with CEE efficiency guidelines. Additional features include an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer applied inside and outside, gray epoxy paint, corrosion-resistant hardware, as well as reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances. Each motor is shipped with final test and vibration results. These motors are ideal for applications requiring premium efficient motors manufactured and tested to rigid standards for severe duty service.
