Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to protect against harsh environmental operating conditions. These motors are ideal for applications in petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. They are engineered to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors and feature premium efficiency copper windings using Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant)® magnet wire that complies with CEE efficiency guidelines. The motors include an Inpro Seal® on fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer on both inside and outside surfaces, gray epoxy paint, and corrosion-resistant hardware. Additionally, they are designed to produce reduced noise and vibration while adhering to strict mechanical tolerances. Final test and vibration results are shipped with each motor, ensuring reliable performance in demanding applications.
