Severe duty motors, available from 1 HP to 700 HP, are specifically designed for applications that demand motor protection from harsh environmental operating conditions. Typical applications for these motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. The motors feature a Super-E premium efficient design with a 1.15 service factor, a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. They are equipped with a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, Class F insulation, a stainless steel nameplate, and corrosion-resistant hardware. Additionally, these motors are tropicalized, making them suitable for use in tropical climates and other processing industry applications that require protection against corrosion due to severe environmental conditions.
