Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors feature a built-to-841XL design with an upgraded electrical and mechanical design incorporating NEMA Premium® efficient winding. The motors include Inpro/Seal® VBX bearing isolators (thru 210 frame) and VBXX isolators on fan and drive end shaft extensions. They are coated with epoxy paint for an IP56 enclosure and feature stainless breather drains. Proprietary cast iron frames are utilized to reduce vibration and noise, while terminal lugs on motor leads enhance connectivity. The motors are compliant with IEEE 841-2001 TEFC motor standards for extreme severe duty service and come with a 5-year warranty.
