Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require robust protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper facilities, waste management sites, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors feature a 1.15 service factor, corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. Additional attributes include a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, Class F insulation, a stainless steel nameplate, corrosion-resistant hardware, and a tropicalized construction. They are ideally suited for use in environments that experience high levels of corrosion, such as tropical climates and various processing industries.
