Severe duty motors are available in a range from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that need protection from harsh environmental operating conditions. These motors feature a Super-E premium efficient design with a 1.15 service factor, a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. Additional attributes include a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, Class F insulation, a stainless steel nameplate, and corrosion-resistant hardware, making them suitable for demanding environments. Typical applications encompass petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants, particularly in tropical climates or other processing industries where severe corrosion protection is required.
