Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. These motors feature Super-E® premium efficient windings, operate at 460 volts, and have a 1.15 service factor. They are constructed with a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. The Forsheda® shaft seal provides additional protection, while the moisture resistant ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings and Class F insulation enhance durability. The motors also include a stainless steel nameplate and corrosion resistant hardware, and come with a 5-year warranty. Typical applications for these motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, chemical plants, tropical climates, and various other processing industry applications that face corrosive conditions.
