Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to protect against severe environmental operating conditions. These motors are suitable for applications in petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. They are built to the 841XL design and feature an upgraded electrical and mechanical design with NEMA Premium® efficient winding. The motors include Inpro/Seal® VBX (thru 210 frame), VBXX bearing isolators on fan and drive end shaft extensions, and an epoxy paint that provides IP56 enclosure. Additional attributes include stainless breather drains, proprietary cast iron frames for reduced vibration and noise, and terminal lugs on motor leads, accompanied by a 5-year warranty. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed IEEE 841-2001 TEFC motor standards, catering to extreme severe duty service in industries such as petro-chemical, pulp and paper, cement, and aggregate mining.
