Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP, specifically designed for applications requiring protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. They feature premium efficiency copper windings using Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant) magnet wire that comply with CEE efficiency guidelines. Additional specifications include an Inpro Seal on fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer (inside and outside), gray epoxy paint, and corrosion resistant hardware. The motors are constructed for reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, with final test and vibration results shipped with each motor.
