Severe duty motors are available in a range from 1 HP to 700 HP, specifically designed to withstand harsh environmental operating conditions. These motors feature Super-E® premium efficient windings, operate at 460 volts with a 1.15 service factor, and are coated with a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish. They include regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, and a Forsheda® shaft seal. The moisture-resistant ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings ensure durability, while Class F insulation enhances performance. Each motor is equipped with a stainless steel nameplate and corrosion-resistant hardware. Typical applications for these motors encompass petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, and chemical plants, particularly in tropical climates where protection from corrosion is essential.
