Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to protect motors in challenging environmental conditions. Typical applications for these motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed the IEEE 841-1994 standards for severe duty TEFC induction motors. They feature premium efficiency copper windings utilizing Baldor-Reliance ISR (Inverter Spike Resistant)® magnet wire that complies with CEE efficiency guidelines. The motors also include an InPro Seal® on the fan and drive end shaft extensions, a 2-part yellow epoxy oxide primer applied both inside and outside, gray epoxy paint, and corrosion-resistant hardware. With reduced noise, vibration, and mechanical tolerances, these motors ensure optimal performance, and final test and vibration results are shipped with each motor.
