Permanent magnet DC motors are available in power ratings of 1/4 - 2 HP, while wound field motors range from 1/2 - 3 HP, suitable for Class I, Group D and Class II, Group F & G locations, with listings by both UL and CSA. These motors are specifically designed for applications such as conveyors and mixers in hazardous environments. Key features include a totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) enclosure, shunt wound configuration, and Class F insulation. They are engineered for compatibility with NEMA type K SCR control and offer a 20:1 constant torque speed range, except where noted. The motors come with a NEMA C-face and removable base, although explosion proof models do not possess this feature. The base is welded on type 3513D only. Motors with NEMA 182 and larger sizes include a thermostat with normally closed contacts on the field winding, and the 35D, 75D, or 91D types do not have dual mounting base holes. These motors are ideal for varied applications, including conveyors, printing, textile equipment, machine tools, and any other equipment that requires variable speeds while maintaining constant torque.
