Severe duty motors are offered in power ratings ranging from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions. These motors feature Super-E® premium efficient windings, operate at 460 volts, and have a 1.15 service factor. They include a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. Additionally, the motors are equipped with a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant ISR® (inverter spike resistant®) copper windings, and Class F insulation. A stainless steel nameplate and corrosion-resistant hardware ensure durability, and these motors come with a 5-year warranty. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, and chemical plants, particularly in tropical climates or other processing industry settings that require robust protection against corrosion.
