Severe duty motors range from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that necessitate protection from harsh environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors are built to 841XL design specifications and feature upgraded electrical and mechanical designs with NEMA Premium® efficient windings. They incorporate Inpro/Seal® VBX (thru 210 frame) and VBXX bearing isolators on fan and drive end shaft extensions. An epoxy paint provides an IP56 enclosure, while stainless breather drains and proprietary cast iron frames enhance durability by reducing vibration and noise. The motors also include terminal lugs on motor leads and come with a 5-year warranty. They are suitable for process industries, including petro-chemical, pulp and paper, cement, and aggregate mining, and are designed, manufactured, and tested to exceed IEEE 841-2001 TEFC motor standards for extreme severe duty service.
