Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications requiring protection against harsh environmental operating conditions. Typical applications for these motors include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. The motors feature Super-E Premium Efficiency, a 1.15 service factor, a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, Class F insulation, a stainless steel nameplate, and corrosion-resistant hardware. They are also tropicalized to withstand extreme conditions and are suitable for various processing industry applications necessitating protection from corrosion.
