Severe duty motors are available in a range from 1 HP to 700 HP, specifically engineered for applications that demand robust protection against severe environmental operating conditions. These motors are ideal for use in petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. Key features include Super-E® premium efficient windings, a voltage rating of 460 volts, a 1.15 service factor, and a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish. They are equipped with regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, and a Forsheda® shaft seal. Additionally, these motors feature moisture-resistant ISR® (inverter spike resistant®) copper windings, Class F insulation, and a stainless steel nameplate with corrosion-resistant hardware. The motors come with a 5-year warranty, making them suitable for tropical climates and other applications that require enhanced protection against corrosion.
