Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors feature Super-E® premium efficient windings, operate at 460 Volt with a 1.15 service factor, and have a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish. They include regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, a Forsheda® shaft seal, and moisture-resistant ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings. The motors are equipped with Class F insulation, a stainless steel nameplate, and corrosion-resistant hardware. They come with a 5-year warranty, making them suitable for tropical climates and other processing industry applications that demand resistance to corrosion due to harsh environmental conditions.
