Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from harsh environmental operating conditions. These motors are suitable for use in petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. Key features of the motors include a Super-E premium efficient motor, a 1.15 service factor, a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, Class F insulation, a stainless steel nameplate, and corrosion-resistant hardware. The motors are also tropicalized, making them ideal for use in tropical climates and other processing industries that necessitate protection against corrosion due to severe environmental conditions.
