Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed to protect against severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors feature a Super-E premium efficient motor with a 1.15 service factor, a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. Additionally, they include a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, Class F insulation, stainless steel nameplate, and corrosion-resistant hardware. The motors are also tropicalized to withstand harsh environments, making them suitable for tropical climates and other processing industry applications that require enhanced protection against corrosion.
