Severe duty motors are available in a range from 1 HP to 700 HP, specifically designed for applications that require protection from harsh environmental conditions. These motors feature a 1.15 service factor, a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, and an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box. They are equipped with a Forsheda® shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, Class F insulation, and a stainless steel nameplate along with corrosion-resistant hardware. The tropicalized design makes these motors suitable for various applications, including petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, chemical plants, and other processing industries where protection against corrosion is crucial.
