Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications requiring protection from severe environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants, as well as other processing industry applications requiring corrosion protection in tropical climates. The motors feature Super-E® premium efficient windings, operate at 460 volts, and have a 1.15 service factor. They are equipped with a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, and a Forsheda® shaft seal. Additionally, these motors feature moisture-resistant ISR® (Inverter Spike Resistant®) copper windings, Class F insulation, and stainless steel nameplates with corrosion-resistant hardware. The products come with a 5-year warranty for added assurance.
