Severe duty motors are available from 1 HP to 700 HP and are specifically designed for applications that require protection from harsh environmental operating conditions. Typical applications include petro-chemical plants, mines, foundries, pulp and paper plants, waste management facilities, rock crushers, and chemical plants. These motors feature ECP motors with XEX designs, a 1.15 service factor, a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish, regreasable ball or roller bearings, an oversized rotatable cast iron conduit box, cast iron frames, a V-ring shaft seal, moisture-resistant copper windings, and Class F insulation. Additionally, they come with a stainless steel nameplate and corrosion-resistant hardware. ECP/XEX Super-E® motors offer NEMA Premium® efficiency and a 3-year warranty, along with a positive lubrication system (PLS) on 360 frame and larger.
